2/ Flavors such as BBQ, chili lime, hot and spicy, jalapeno, smoke, etc. shall be specified by purchaser. Applicable to Types IV-IX.
4. MANUFACTURER'S/DISTRIBUTOR'S NOTES. Manufacturer's/distributor's products shall meet the requirements of the:
- Salient characteristics (Sec. 5).
- Analytical requirements: as specified by the purchaser (Sec. 6).
- Manufacturer's/distributor's product assurance (Sec. 7).
- Regulatory requirements (Sec. 8).
- Quality assurance provisions: as specified by the purchaser (Sec. 9).
- Packaging requirements other than commercial: as specified by the purchaser (Sec.10).
5. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
5.1 Raw materials.
5.1.1 Almonds. The shelled almonds shall be U.S. No. 1 (or better) as specified in the U.S. Standards for Grades of Shelled Almonds.
5.1.2 Brazil nuts. The Brazil nuts shall be from U.S. No. 1 Brazil nuts as specified in the U.S. Standards for Grades of Brazil Nuts in the Shell.
5.1.3 Cashews. The cashews shall meet the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe
(UNECE) quality requirements.
